Had the day off work today and took many many snow shots, most of which weren't any good, I quite liked this one.

Am i allowed to post images that have been PPd?

Do your worst! :)

Probably a coolish idea for a shot but the shot is too tight. It would be better if you could see more of subject (Frosty and hand). Also a more creative angle would've helped.

Cute! Don't see many pictures like that.

I like it as it is. If you were to pull it out it seems to me it would be more of an ordinary shot. I think the tight shot works in this case.

Ditto on the crop. As the crop stands, it also doesn't allow for a whole lot of contrast in the black and white.

I'm WITH the tight-crop crew here.

Like the selective colouring.

Like the crop.

If you could whack up the contrast a little more, it might please those who want more "black" in with all that white.

Oh and ALL images posted on here are "PP'd" due to in-camera processing. So don't stress it!

Thanks for the comments guys, I quite liked it because of being tight into it. I agree with the viewpoint though, i would have liked to get at more of an angle. It's still snowing here so i might go out again!

Really? Great! Go for it! We've not had any snow here at sea-level yet, so zero opportunities for "winter" pictures. Let's see your next attempt.........

Still loads of snow here, unfortunately it hasn't really stopped snowing so i can go out. Plus i'm recovering from having a wisdom tooth out, so i probably shouldn't be "running about taking pictures in the snow" well at least that's what the wife says......

I recently got a new tripod so thought i would try some trailing lights, on this one the guy actually slid accross the road, which you can make out just with the lights. Hence the 'STOP' sign focal point. Again, not great, but not too bad i think!

Your neighborhood has so much character. Take more shots - after you've recovered!

Yeah i'm really lucky, the town i live in is so old, i never take the time to 'look up' though, and i always moan that i have nothing to take pics of!!

Good attempt! And I agree that your area is pretty. Looks like any one of thousands of villages in the UK to me....that brings back memories!
Anyway, for trailing lights of cars, you need to decide if you want the background to be highly visible, almost invisible, or anywhere in between, and I think you've done a good job with this shot.
Too many people IMHO have lots of lights from cars and rooms in buildings, etc., while the sky is black. A few hours earlier/later can make all the difference.

Keep the pics coming, and hope that wisdom tooth extraction gets better! I'm suffering from a chest infection/cold so am banned from going "out to play" - dammit!
