This week I will be shooting a portrait of two people standing side by side and want the background obscured. The background will be about a foot away. Normaly I would just move them further away from the wall, so I could have it out of dept of field range, but I'm unable to do in this shooting. I'm using the Canon 28-105 lens. I have set the av to 3.5, but would not blurr enough. The location is also a low light deal so plan on using Custom Function 03 to 1 (1/200 Fixed).

Any suggestions or would I have to fix in Photoshop?

Thanks

Sounds like a photoshop job to me, 1 foot just isn't enough.

You could use a drop cloth with a blur patter on it and place that behind.

This sounds like a job for a six-foot square of black velvet.
