I've been covering Long Beach State all season for the school publications and for the website, and I've noticed that I'm really just coming home with the same sort of shots every night. I've tried alternative angles (from the corner of the baseline, looking in toward the basket, from the stands 45* from backboard) but the shots that seem to work best are the normal, sit on the floor and shoot ones. I'd like some C&C if you have any suggestions about capturing something different, about angles, and about the shots themselves. I've considered mounting a camera, but my budget is tight, so thats not an option for now. Thanks for your time and valuable input. Go Beach!

Theres a lot more to the game than shooting. Do you have anything that isnt someone taking a shot?

+1 I'd like to see some other types of shots.

You have good shots there. Technically speaking the photos look good to me. I agree with Adam and Dave shots of something other that players shooting would be a good place to start.

definitely look for action away from the ball. Shoot as a photojournalist trying to tell a story rather than just capturing peak action. It'll change the way you see the game completely.

I definitely have more than just shots. I only uploaded the shots because my flickr bandwidth is already at 35% for the month. ;)

These shots are great. Not sure if you can do it, but for H.S. games I find that about 10 rows up to the left of the backboard is a great spot. This is one of my favs from that angle...
