Just wanted to know if this shot is ok. Took it near a dam that is frozen until spring.

Dooglla,
I like this shot. It looks like it could have been taken here (Black Hills of South Dakota). It could use a smidge of straightening and a little brightening, but I think it shows how cold and bleak winter can be. I think you captured the mood!

Thanks man...I needed that to see if I was taking it right or not. Sometime when I think things looks good I know others see it different on their monitors. That is why I was starting to think maybe I needed to calibrate my monitor of something.

I know what you mean. Just remember...making things the proper size to display here can cause you to lose a lot from the pic. The original may look great, have awesome detail and color, however, once you resized and compress, it just doesn't have the same impact.

I like the shot. I think the use of the wood so prominently in the foreground makes it interesting. I also like the way the ice and sky sort of mirror each other. I'm guessing you shot this with a fairly small appeture?

Yeah, I shot it at f16 or f11...will have to look on the picture again.
Thanks everyone...will lighten it up and repost it in a few. Really appreciate the help also.

Man, that's ugly. The apparent cold weather, not the photo. It really gets the bleak cold across. I'm getting cold just looking at it. You did a good job. I like the lighting just as it is. Whe horizon appears a little tilted, or maybe my chair has a list to it. Let me see ................................nope.........the post is definetly askew. Sure got the cold message across though.
