I'm entering a competition to take architectural photos of a very modern building of a banking institution - lots of colour, angles and circular details in the building, etc.
I chose the afternoon visit for the shoot, to get the magical light, twilight and night shots.
Any ideas for a different shot? No PP is allowed in the competition.

By no PP, does it mean absolutely no PP, you give them the memory card, or 'no PP,' which means you get to fix it up in curves. Because digital image files have to be PP'd to get proper results.
Unless you shoot JPEG, of course I suppose. On that note, your camera should have a B&W setting, and you could use that occasionally to get some variety in your shots. Don't shoot any part of the building front on. This is boring and unimaginative. Get close to edges and features and shoot upwards with the widest lens you've got. Generally try not to get people in your shots unless they're there for a purpose. Use all different types of light. Harsh daylight is good to accentuate shadows, soft evening light makes you pictures look nice, and at night you have endless opportunities with the lighting the building has.
Also, back off, go half a mile away and take a photo through lots of other buildings, but being sure to make it obvious which is your subject. Go to a hill or another building or something and get a nice long shot. And see if you can get into a surrounding building and take a shot or two looking down.
Umm, just experiment, and look for different angles. Good luck.
