I have been doing some research on this head. Trying to get my plans finalized on the 500f4 and my tripod set up for it. I read all the reviews at B&H on this head and the phrase "fluid smooth" is mentioned a lot. My question is this: Have any owners of this head used it in extremely cold weather such as 0 to -20's. It sounds like a great piece of gear and the fact that I only have 1 question about it says a lot about it!! Thanks.

Well, can I convince some birders who probably use the big glass to give me some info? I thought there would probably be more of these units in use.

I'm sure that are lots of people who have the Wimberley WH-200 head (I'm one of them). However, I'm not sure how many of them have actually gone out and used it in extremely cold weather. I, for one, am a wimp when it comes to cold weather and, like the birds that like to migrate South for the winter, I like the warmer weathers better. :D

Edit: oh yeah don't forget a 3530LS:D

I couldn't find anything on the 3320SP but the 3530LS is perfect for me and I am 5'11". With the Wimberley head attached, it's actually a little too tall when fully extended. So I've got room to grow:-)
Here's some eye candy for you:

All I'm missing is the 500!
