View Full Version : Any free (UK) galleries for sharing - that also pay royalties?

I am interested in being able to share some of my photographs.
Initially I want to store them and then allow friends to view them online.
But I also heard that some galleries allow people to purchase images and the photographer gets a royalty payment.
Anyone have any experience of good sites, and if royalty based, any that are UK based or that support UK users?
Thanking you all...

Free for your first 250MB. £5/month if you want to have features that enable you to sell photos at a profit.

Hi DavoMrMac,
I run a site that pays royalties and it is free.
We do put the images through a selection process though.
Check it out if you like:

Hope that helps,

Nice idea. I'm a bit concerned by an aspect of your T's & C's myself
7. CONTENT LICENSING
...
PrintFlash.com where you transfer the exclusive rights for printing, sale, leasing,
distribution, binary transfer, and other manipulation of the Content that may be necessary for PrintFlash.com to carry out its business. Said licensing agreement will have a duration of one(1) year
...
Doesn't this mean that once submitted on this site, my photos can't be made available anywhere else for a year? I can't even edit them?! I seem to have to grant you exclusive rights for binary transfer, and other manipulation of my photos?!

Hi,
You are right to be concerned. There is an errata in the terms document that was corrected by our staff but had not been uploaded to the site :o
We are in fact trying to be as reasonable as possible but two of the selling points of our site is the fact that the photographers themselves submit the images and that they are exclusive to us(while we have them). You will also note the first line in theCONTENT LICENSING paragraph:
PrintFlash.com does not claim ownership of Content you submit to PrintFlash.com
There should be 2 sentences there instead of one:
1: The exclusive rights are for printing, sale and leasing ( leasing - in case we outsource printing).
2: You also grant permission for distribution, binary transfer, and other manipulation of the Content that may be necessary for PrintFlash.com to carry out its business. (so we can store and move the images on our servers.)
Thank you for your input. The correction is now uploaded. I hope you can now consider us.

Well, for me, the exclusivity thing doesn't work. Especially as I'd be at the mercy of the efforts you'd put into promoting sales fo my photos. But I'm sure others may be fine with it. Each to his own.

My site doesn't pay royalties, but you can upload as many pictures as you want for free.
