The Lumiquest ProMax System is probably the best all around system out there IMO. It does really need a proper flash bracket to shine it's best. Otherwise you end up with some side shadows in portrait mode. It's my unit of choice with a bracket.

I have not tried the new Lumiquest 80/20 type unit that mounts on the short side of the flash head but it looks quite promising.

Ditto what Titus said. The combo of Promax + camera rotating flash bracket is hard to beat.

I've been using the ProMax for over a year and find the results superb. As Titus and Curtis point out it only has limitation when shooting in portrait mode as most systems do, but the new 80/20 seems to help address that.

I just ordered a flash bracket and am very excited about the possibilities this will open up for me.

Agree very much!
I just do few tests these days with this combo (Lumiquest + flash bracket) against e.g. other diffusers and plain flash, the results are great.

I too use the Promax System and also with a bracket. I wouldn't choose any other method that's on the market today for on-camera portable use of a Speedlite.

What type of bracket do you guys use? I don't want something big and bulky... any help?

I used a Stroboframe CameraFlip bracket but would not recommend it for extensive use. It works and it's inexpensive.
