Taken this fall with my previous Canon XTi. A little sharpening and some saturation to bring up the gold. The resort in the background was empty in early October but we found the weather and water wonderful. Of course, we're Canadian and will swim anywhere anytime!

It's OK, but I'd rather see the beach than a building. You might lighten the shadows a bit, see if that brings more elements into the shot.

Agreed, the background is way too distracting.

Thanks for posting. Did you actually stay there or just daytrimp from Hilton Head?

We did the day trip from Hilton Head. Fascinating place, especially liked the general store and the bar at the boat landing.

I like this shot. Reason being, everyone else would've faced the beach.
This shot is different. The background is a little strong, but its nice, thats why.
I like how the colors pop out.

Thanks Gordeez. I liked the shot for the same reasons but the points mentioned earlier are valid also. I do need to pay more attention to background and simplify my shots.

In this case I was taken by the similarity in the color of the grass and the building. Sort of wondered if the architect had taken it into consideration in his color choice.
