Canon took this lens off its lens lineup site. Could an improvement be in the works?

Isnt it a very good lens though?

I mean not to be negative, but really...there are OTHER lenses they could have spent money upgrading and enhancing than that low-volume optic :/

Not a rumour. Already announced by Canon USA Inc. It also joined by a new sibling (probably for 1.6x crop users) in the form of the TS-E 17mm f/4L.
