This is part of my mom's Santa collection: a five shot hdr tonemapped twice and blended together.
I find this is often necessary because the extremely detailed method tends to make edges up against bright areas, for example the white wall and the santas, a bit grey.
In this case I left the wall grey and masked in a brighter version of the santas faces in these areas.
Shot with the 1ds2/17-40 on a tripod.

this is an hdr? no offense, but it doesn't look hdr at all...

Hey King.
Thanks for your thought.
Here are two crops, one of the hdr and one of the best single exposure.
The single exposure is smart sharpened like the hdr.
If all I had was the single I would have "mined" it for more detail in the shadows...
PM goes in there and mines all the details for me...
