Had to shoot a Senior Night, and decided to stay for the game. I bounced one strobe from a corner over the keeper, so I was very limited at what part of the ice I was shooting at. I was fine with that, since I was just shooting for fun/experience.

1. This was a great glove save just 2 minutes into the game. I had just missed an even better glove save because I was behind the net looking for shooters.

2. You can see the shadows, as I only had one strobe set and did not plan on staying for the game. Colors were a bit dark for my liking, but I liked the shot.

3. I did not grab the focus, here, but again, love the shot. This really should have been a penalty shot, as the (green) came sliding in and and the (white) made a great mid-air spin move to stay in control on a break away. I was 0.7 seconds too late!

4. I just loved this kids' helmet and as an retired goalkeeper, I was very envious!!

Good hockey shots... 3 is very good - even if the focus isn't nailed.
I really see that having that strobe giving the extra light makes a huge difference in the images.
Second and third shot are my favs. from these!

How much PP did you do. I think you could make them pop a bit more.

When I strobe, I like to keep them as not-PP's as possible. So I will usually only adjust levels, curves and a very small unsharp mask. I just PP'd these for the web, not for resale, which would be a more tedious PP, as I think you are referring.

1 - cropped, unsharp Mask 15-2-1
2 - none
3 - cropped, unsharp Mask 15-2-1
4 - Curves, cropped, unsharp Mask 15-2-1
