After both my Interfit sync cables (the ones to my camera) died at the same time this week, I have decided I really need to go wireless. And so goes the photo equipment domino effect.... I have been reading online for half the day and my head is really in a spin! I have an Interfit EX150 lighting system, Sekonic L-358 and a Speedlite 430EX and a Canon Rebel XTi. It would be nice to find a radio wireless system that would be compatible with my equipment.

I was pretty convinced I would go for CyberSync from AlienBees for price and quality, but then I read that Sekonic is only compatible with the very spendy but nice Pocket Wizard. (Wouldn't I still need to purchse the Sekonic RT-32 transmitter on top of the PWs?) But..... reading on the forums it seems that perhaps I can still get a CyberSync and use my Cordless Auto Reset Mode on my Sekonic? And a FlashZebra adapter for my Speedlite? Am I even understanding all this correctly I wonder...

Anyway, just like everyone else I am trying to get the most bang for my buck, with the equipment I already possess. Would love to get some input about some options. Thanks so much!

Instead of using the "auto reset" mode of the light meter, which can, in itself, present a problem sometimes, you can always get an extra transmitter and connect it to the light meter via a PC sync cable. So, if you don't want to go with the PWs, you can use the money, that would otherwise have gone towards the RT-32 module, to get another CyberSync transmitter unit. Of course, this setup isn't as convenient as having the RT-32 embedded in the light meter body but it'll work.

Okay, after reading more threads and took Leo's advise... I ordered some CyberSyncs today. A great thread lead me to Andrew Edward's blog at :

He has a great video that shows you how easy it is to fire the Sekonic with the CyberSync.
Just need some velcro and voila! I will spend the $150 I just saved (is spending really saving?) and get other needed supplies...
Can't wait to try this all out.
