I was walking around Balboa Park today, giving my new 85mm f/1.8 a field test. I love this lens.

This is probably my favorite shot from the day, and I took a lot of shots:

I wish the sky wasn't so blown out in this one:

This statue is on the front of the Museum of Man:

Part of downtown San Diego:

I don't know why this caught my eye:

#1 and #2 grabbed my attention right away. Great work with shadows!

Hi Steve,
I particularly like #1...It reminds me of one I took a while ago at Horton Plaza. If I figure out how, I'll post it for you :o. Good luck with the new lens...looks like you're off to a great start!
Today was the perfect day to get out and shoot San Diego...Finally sunny and warm again :D

They all look very nice, but number one has a real wow factor to it. I think that you could crop just below the first ledge level and you would have one of those optical illusion photos - a whole new look.

It was actually hot in Balboa Park. I was wearing my leather jacket when I left the house (I live in East County), and took it off about a mile down the road.

Definitely a great day...

I'd agree with this - all fine photos with one that is amazingly impactful.
