Oh well, I said I wasn't going to do this 'cos I really can't be bothered any more but boredom has gotten the better of me.

#1 Mini, snow, trees...
http://www.photozo.com/album/data/9185/RPUK5724x1000.jpg

#2 Four wheel drive works better if you keep them on the ground...
http://www.photozo.com/album/data/9185/RPUK6055x1000.jpg

#3 Maximum commitment
http://www.photozo.com/album/data/9185/RPUK5904x1000.jpg

#4 A little less commitment would have been advisable
http://www.photozo.com/album/data/9185/RPUK6119x1000.jpg

#5 It is actually written into rally regulations; "no Ford Escort shall have all its wheels pointing in the same direction at any point during a special stage"
http://www.photozo.com/album/data/9185/RPUK6222x1000.jpg

#6 Newer Escorts can go sideways too
http://www.photozo.com/album/data/9185/RPUK6402x1000.jpg

#7 But for real sideways jollity you can't beat a Mark II
http://www.photozo.com/album/data/9185/RPUK6440x1000.jpg

All taken using a Canon EOS 1D Mark III (which everyone knows can't focus) and one of those crappy Sigma 120-300mm f/2.8EX HSM things (mainly 'cos I couldn't be bothered carrying anything else into stage). The first fourwere from Serridge SS2 in the morning and the last three from Serridge SS7 in the afternoon when it was getting quite dark.

There are a few more here http://www.racepicsuk.com/c1650585.html should you feel inclined to have a look. Thanks for your time. :)

Cadwell,
Really glad you posted, and hope your cynisism doesn't last too long.

Life goes on with or without us,but I for one have benefitted plenty from your wisdom and skill, thanks.

As for the piccies.
Usual high standard, and the aftn top runners with dodgy light have come out well considering it was nearly dark, and I was playing around with flash at that time.

If I am honest ,I would like to have seen more variation in this set,but the quality is excellent.
Thanks for posting,
Pons

"I really can't be bothered any more" Whats up with that? Comments you received? I have to agree with Pons
that this forum needs guys like you with all that experience in motorsport so rookies like me can learn from.

These are good looking shots even they are taken with the crap gear you have

A great set Glenn - The first one takes me right back to the days of Will Sparrow, in his cross-flow head clubman in the early seventies..... Fantastic.

No, standing in a hole

Comments received? No, my skin is thicker than that :) It's mainly a time / effort issue as there aren't rewards in any tangible sense (sales etc.) derived from posting here and I don't have a lot of spare time. Also this section is becoming increasingly popular and it tends to get swamped by sharing threads from any major UK event. Why add to the crowd?

Hi Glenn,
Re comments.
It's getting popular because of the freedom that digital photography brings, and instant results it provides.
It also offers instant playback and histograms that provide all the info needed for correction, plus raw files and photoshop to correct shots to an acceptable standard.
However,an out of focus shot ,will still never be any good,or a lousy spot or composition never better than average.

Old school slide photographers like me took ages to switch over to all this new fangled digital ,computer based photography, and it has cost a comparitive fortune updating gear accordingley, money that will be unlikely to be recovered ,but the enjoyment it brings is sufficient reward.

What I have gained through this site is new friends sharing the same passion ,and a tremendous amount of new knowledge and skill to enhance my enjoyment.
The standards on this forum can be awesome, and photographers like yourself have contributed hugely to that,as have some others whose work is consistently on a level way above what we try to follow, and hopefully ,ultimately achieve.

Digital photography has brought it to the masses ,hence the popularity, but that still means the best will still shine, and there is still no substitute for skill and vision, and ability.
That has still to be worked at ,and there is no instant karma or substitute for hard work.

I understand your possible cynasism of the popularity, and draws on your time, but please keep posting as I for one would miss your cryptic wit and humour, but above all would miss looking at your pictures and being reminded of what the standard in the premiership is,and being inspired to try to achieve the same .

You have helped more folk than ever you would realise,so I for one ,thank you for that,as I have said before other members of the A team on here.

Best respect,
Pons

Great series Cadwell, as always. It's always a pleasure to see your photo's, be it on here, or on your website.

The Mini shot is just superb - such a small car with such a large following, and successful in so many racing series, often against car much larger and much more powerful opposition. Such a legend, and obviously at home on the snow in the Wyedean Forest stages.
