I recently went to nyc and i took some pics with my cannon rebel xti with 18-55mm lens and this is my first city pics so i hope i did ok and i would like any pointers you have to give me and this is my second time using my slr so i am still adapting lol and like i said any pointers i would love !!!

try poping your colors a bit in post

I agree. The pics lack a little pop.

#1 could have been framed a little tighter and possibly eliminate some of the distractions.

#2...doesn't do it for me.

#3...doesn't scream NYC. The shot itself is well done however.

#4...also kind of meh.

I think #5, #6, and #7 have potential.


I think #6 is the best composed shot, well, except for the dark corners. Did you have a hood on or your finger got in the way? :-)

I would have to agree about more color especially the sky needs to be more blue. Also not too much vignette in #6

Nice pics, but where's the pic of B&H? I thought that would be one of the first places any photographer would WANT to photograph/visit if they were ever in NYC. :lol:

weather really bad? some of it kinda wash out. If you didn't say youre' using DSRL, i thought you use p&S. Kit lens might be the reason for this "so..so" picture. This could be your "Excuse" to upgrade the lens. ;)
