My makeshift portrait studio...in my loft, lol. Black sheet and a couple of dome lights. Of course my sons shirt was all dirty:oops:

They both have somewhat odd shadows around the eyes and nose and I don't like the cutoff hand in the first. Other than that, good poses and exposure. Might need to tweak the lighting a bit is all. Maybe something used as a reflector to fill?

I like the second one best. Watch losing focus in the far eye, but other than that I think it is a pretty great shot :)

Quite like them both for a first post.
To nit pick...
The first one has been shot in portrait, resulting in the little guys hand and feet being cut off, yet lots of empty space above his head. the shadows are a little harsh too (a reflector to his left would have helped here).
The second is a lovely portrait, but has already mentioned his right eye is a little out of focus, and again, a reflector may have helped too.
