hi all!
I love this little camera and I've just recently discovered the ability to exposure shift in Program mode which is not listed in the manual! (ie ability to let the camera pick exposure then you shift the shutter/ap while maintaining same exposure value)

However, I often need to do on the spot exposure compensation, say bump up the exposure by 1 stop. To do this, I need to go into the WB, etc. menu select the exposure comp. keep hitting the WB button till I get out of the menu, then shoot.

There must be an easier way that's not burried in some menu! I remember on my old SLR you could do this by holding down a button and rotating a dial. the meter would then show your change in exposure (much the same way the S30 does exposure shifting in the P mode)

Can anyone help??
thanks!

Nope. As far as I know that is the way. Pres WB button change the exposure. But if you keep on pressing WB just to get out of the menu, maybe I can tell you how to cut the timing short. After you enter the desired value in exposure, just press SET (the 5 way controller one) and it will bring you out of the menu instantly.
