Couldn't resist the glow of tonights full moon. I played around with my telescope and came up with a few OK shots. Scope used was a Celestron C80ED 600mm f6.5. I used a 40mm Maxview II eyepiece with a 1.6x maxpower lens. Basically a 2" 25mm eyepiece which gives about 24x magnification.

Pictures were taken afocally(holding camera lens up to eyepiece). Focal length was around 44mm (see exif), which does up the mag, but I don't know the exact resulting mag. No cropping was done to these. I played around in Lightroom and upped the saturation a little to see what they would look like. I think they turned out pretty good. Probably my best to date. I'm sure if I wasn't hand holding the camera and used a smaller aperture (lens is a lot sharper around f8) they would have been even better. Oh well, still new to this. Let me know what you think.

Too much? I was hoping to get more than 1 comment on these. Good or bad. I guess a full moon just isn't that interesting. I'll try again when I can get some crater detail. Easier to shoot anyway when the moon isn't so bright.
