I have just retrieved photos from my Lexar 256MB Pro CompactFlash Card using a Lexar USB Enabled Card Reader, The problem is I cant open the file .THM in Photoshop C.S. or any other programme, the camera used was a Canon EOS D1 Mark 11. I have used the card and reader before to retreive photos with no problems but this is the first time I have came across this file. Can anyone help.

THM is a thumbnail, just a JPG with a different file extension, it's created when you're shooting RAW. Rename it to .jpg and any program will open it. I just delete them anyway, they're not overly helpful IMHO.

Sorry - Raw Shooter Elements - there have been a number of threads on it recently - superb converter but to carry over the EXIF, unfortunately, at the moment, needs thm files

Interesting - I use RawShooter sometimes, but I didn't know it had elements on the end of it's name. I never really noticed the lack of EXIF in it's outputs either. I use PS CS mainly, though each is better for different things.

Either way, THM are just JPG files, hope that helps Mr Newpics :)

The reason you can't open the .THM files is because there are NO .THM files created by the 1DmkII. All yuo'll see is the .CR2 files. And as long as you have ACR 2.3 (Adobe Camera Raw 2.3 plug-in) or later installed, you should be able to open the .CR2 files in PSCS.

It doesn't; it's RawShooter Essentials, not Elements. :)
