Ok let me start with the fact that I do not have a macro lens yet. So I took my 28-105 and turned it around and held it in front of my camera to try and photograph this little fellow. He was about 1 cm and it was a lot of fun. He was very fast but my whole family was trying to help me. The video of this would be much better than the photo but we did not take one sorry to say. My wife and daughters who hate insects were very courageous and helped coral the spider so I could try and get a shot. My son held my off camera flash for me. So here I am trying to move back and forth litterally centimeters from the spider and everybreath rendered him pretty much out of focus. Trying to photograph a moving spider while trying to hold your lens turned around to the camera body not a recommend way to get a macro shot but I just had to try he was the first insect since the macro bug caught me. I really need to save up and invest in a macro lens. It would save a lot of problems.

The biggest problem with this photo is the lack of depth of field because of the method used to shoot it. I thought I would post it anyway so that hopefully I can look back and laugh later.

Hope you all enjoy.
