I am doing prom photos for my sisters prom for the second year in a row. I do it for free because I make enough off of the students and its a small poor school. The prom is not until May so I have plenty of time to think about it but the teacher needs a few things from me.
1) she would like a professional looking order form (as apposed to microsoft word one)
2) last year they provided the backdrop this year she asked if I could provide the backdrop but I dont have any professional backdrops...and I dont wanna buy anything too expensive bc im doing it for free. Last year I bought studio lighting for 200 dollars and still made $200 profit so I can spend a little.
The main thing I am worried about now is the "professional" order form. Sorta stupid thing to worry about but IDK what one looks like and google aint helping much.
Help me out, do you have a professional looking order form I can look at? If you do it would be much appreciated. Sorry bout the long post for such a simple question...

What does your current Microsoft Word order form look like? Many businesses use Word or Excel to create order forms

A lot of people make "professional" forms in MS Word. I have also seen forms that look really bad because the person that made them just slapped some text and underlines on a page with no kind of formating for alignment or anything.
It's not that hard if you know a little about Word and how to format the document. If you attach your form maybe people could give you pointers on how to make it look more professional.

It does not sit well with me that you do this for free but they are wanting you to be more professional looking. You should offer them what you have and they should take it or leave it. But that's just me and i do not know your relationship with the school and with the people in charge, or what you hope to get out of it...

check out

you can rent backgrounds that will match your dances theme. They are quick and the backgrounds rock.
Typically you would not charge the school for this type of shoot. You do of course charge the students.
Your order form look really has little to do with it being produced in Word. Ad your logo, give it a sprucing up, make sure it is easy to follow and quick to fill out. If you want you can email me the form so I can check it out.

Thats doesn't look to bad for a form that is used for a high school prom. There are some minor changes that could be made with the layout. The content seems fine.
If you want attach it as a .zip file to a post and I can give it a quick tweek.

That form looks way better than I was expecting when I read that they wanted it to look "more professional". Between working for free, their form critiques, and the backdrops, it seems to me like they're doing some serious dental examination on a donated equine.

CutePDF will let you "print" to a PDF file on a Windows machine.

Apple computers have this feature built in.

everyone should have it, or some equivalent.
I don't see why your order form isn't "professional". Though I might avoid saying "cash" three times in a row at the bottom.

I just want something a tiny bit more elegant. any ideas?
and I did fix it up a lil bit and got rid of all the cash before i used it. this was like the rough draft of the old one.

You have 2 package g's
also you have too many packages. Usually 5-7 is good.

Are you printing these on a regular letter size paper? I print mine on a 6x9 envelope that they can put the money in and hand in the order. That way the kids usually have the correct amount with the order form - nice and easy. I can send you one of mine if you want.
As far as the background, try to pick one that goes along with the theme of the prom, at least loosely fits or is elegant.

6x9 envelopes is a good idea
Ya i talked to my sister and she said a white or gold cloth would be good (colors are white and gold)

Honestly if they are wearing white and gold Id go with a darker color, otherwise the kids might not stand out against the backdrop. This is just my opinion but I might choose maroon as it compliments white and gold well. You could always get a black or dark grey textured muslin that way you can reuse it in the future. Think of it as an investment.
From experience a white cloth is not as good with people walking over it, dirty.
I saw this color online, it might be too brown for you though:

In addition, consider how you will mount the cloth. You will also need to purchase a backdrop stand in addition to the muslin or canvas.
Also, when you are using Microsoft Word you can access Word Online to download templates. There are templates for envelopes and such. You buy avery paper envelopes (or a knock off) and use the free template.
I access Word templates by hitting File - New then a tab comes on the right side and there is a "search templates" button. You can also click "Help" and then click "Microsoft Online." You might not find exactly what you need but the template is a good starting point. You can add a page border, logo, table with the package and pricing, etc. It can look very professional.
Good luck!

I would also go with something that compliments white and gold, not matching. (Black is pretty safe.)

1) I dont think they are wearing white and gold i think that is just like the prom colors for the tables and balloons etc....
2) I will check on that Microsoft Word online bc im too tired right now lol.
3)thanks for the feedback
You need to raise your prices.....
Trust me the people in this town dont have enough money to spend more than that....I make all I need from those prices(which are actually higher than last year) Once I get more jobs I will start charging more but for now everyone wins with these prices.
