A client that hangs my images in their showroom asked for a CD portfolio so they can show certain clients specific images that are not on the wall.

I want to burn the images as jpegs on the cd, but how do I do it in such a manner without applying a watermark so that they look great when viewed on a monitor but have poor resolution in print form?

Thanks.

Are you worried about the gallery owner making prints for himself/his customers instead of going through you (so you wouldn't get your cut) ?

If you don't trust the gallery owner, I'd find another gallery...

If you size them to about 1000 pixels wide, they'll look great on a monitor, but probably won't make a decent print (unless you want a ~3" print, assuming they print at 300DPI)

Otherwise, I don't think you can really do anything....

No, I'm not worried about the gallery but I do want to protect my images from unauthorized copying. I think I'm just going to put a low profile watermark in the center.

if you are worried that someone will steal your images putting a small watermark will not prevent this in anyway. Realistically if a person is willing to steal it they are willing to remove your logo.
What about providing a DVD slideshow? even though if played in the computer you can still do a screen capture.
