HI all,
Here are a few shots with a modified Rebel XT I picked up from RenaudVL (on the forum). Shot with the EFS 17-55mm. Shot raw, converted to B&W, sharpened, toned, PT lensed, and level adjusted in CS3. C&C welcome.

Looks like a good start! Congratulations on the new camera, I'm sure you're going to be loving it once the leaves pop back out in a few months!

PT Lens (http://epaperpress.com/ptlens/) is a software package/photoshop plugin that corrects lens pincushion/barrel distortion, vignetting, chromatic aberration, and perspective. It's similar to photoshop's Distort -> Len correction filter. That's what I take it he means.

Righ on! It is a relatively inexpensive alternative to plug-ins like DXO. It does all of the above. A nice piece of software which can speed up work flow.

Yeah, IR can be a little boring without those bright white leaves! I am especially anxious for the warmer weather so that I can find some green grass to adjust my color balance for IR color shots! ;-)

Thanks, Dennis, JaCuff got it right. Here's the PT Lens site:

I think it is $25 for a full license.

Nice I like the second one best.
I have a D30 that I bought the filter from Lifepixel and converted myself.

Nice shots pdccamers. Perhaps a silly question but, can the modified camera sill take non infrared pictures, or is it only infrared once it is modified?

It really depends on the camera. I had Lifepixel convert a 40D to UV+IR. It allows me to shoot lots of things depending on what filter I put on the lens. If I put on a B+W 092, 093, or 099 filter I can shoot IR. If I put a B+W 486 filter on, I can shoot regular.

Thanks! This particular conversion replaces the internal IR filter which normally sits on top of the image sensor in the camera with a filter that allows the near infrared to pass through while attenuating some visible light. The modification can be un-done by replacing the original filter, but only by major surgery.
Best,
Paul
