I must have missed something. I was told at my local shop that to have wireless release it was going to run my around 1000 bucks. I thought I was seeing like 170 on that site? Or was my shop guy just trying for extra commission?

For those of you who think $179 is a bit pricey for a wireless RF remote, you're probably right, compared to you going out and buying the electronic parts and then assembling one from scratch.

However, Canon sells their wireless remotes for over $400 and it's not even an RF unit.

And a PocketWizard transmitter/receiver pair goes for around $350 and this doesn't even include the price of the triggered cable. :confused:

I have one of these, they are made in China (which is where mine was shipped from). It works great.
