I see a fingerprint on my lens. I have lint free cloths I used for IBM tape drives, so can i use these to clean the fingerprint off ?
I don't have a blower or brush.
My lens is probably plastic on this model. Im not sure.
Until I goto a phot store to buy it, what can I use here at home ? Its a holiday today and stores are closed, and I need to use the camera in an hour.

If by solution u mean like liquid or something, I wouldnt recommend u use any ordinary cleaning stuff as it might break down the plastic on ur lens, although it wont hurt it now but in the future u might notice.
If anyone in ur house wears glasses then see if they have the glasses cleaner or anti-fog cleaning solution on them and give it a small spray, and then if they have that spray they most likely have the glass cleaning cloth too which should work perfect (its a non disposable lint free type cloth). Or if anyone in ur house plays hockey and has a visor for there helmet, the spray for that is also sufficient. If you dont have safe glass/plastic specific cleaners like them then i wouldnt suggest using anything else u find around the house as it may ruin ur lens over the long run.
Once easter is done, go out to futureshop or bestbuy or something and look for a little pen looking device in the camera section. It has a cleaning pad where an eraser typically is, and a soft rush on the writing end, so its a really good compact cleaning solution if ur on the go. It doesnt require any solution to clean a lens, although im sure u can use steam from ur breathe if u need to. I bought one for my sons Pro1 and it works perfect, im not sure if its as effective on plastic lenses but it should do the job on those small lenses. I think his was made by Belkin or something like that, i dont recall.

I use a Sima lens pen - works great.

I wouldn't use the tape head cleaning wipes. They likely contain chemicals designed for dealing with the residue buildup on the tape drives, and may not play nicely with the coating of your superb Canon optics. Try the Sima lens pen, as Nancy said.
