I have never tried to do abstract before, so this was very difficult for me, it just seems to broad for me I guess, I don't know I enjoy looking at others abstract stuff, but this is just not my can of worms. But here it goes  ???

Looks good everyone. Was beginning to wonder who our players were. Abstract is such a broad subject, I thought it would come fairly easy for all of us. Plus give everyone a chance to step out of the box and do something they don't normally do. I gotta tell ya I've been having some fun with this. I have several I'm PP'ing. Just trying to narrow it down to my favorite. Will probably post mine tonight. Good luck all and keep em coming!!

Ok here's my submission. This is a photo of an infinity candle. For those that don't know, it's a glass case that you set candles in and the candles reflect off of the front and rear glass panals and the reflections give the effect off the light going on forever. So what I did was a 4sec exposure and panned the camera from right to left and got a stream of lights effect. Then did some heavy PP work in PSE7 and this is the result.

no sitting out, just post something, I did... at least it gives us some participation, and the best part of these little comps is getting to look at everyone's take on specific subjects, which helps us all learn, and gives me something to do while bored :D

k - Well for me - ckort's picture stands out as what I would consider abstract.
Without saying how he did it, I probably wouldn't know exactly. The flame of the candle has made those wave like forms - so it kinda reminds me of a a few different things - ripples in sand, waves, water, clouds...the black could be space, the colours look like energy. There's quite a few ways you could look at it.
A good effort from everyone, but for me ckort's picture and the editing stands out to me.
Good luck everyone!

Yes the clock caught my eye one day, so i went back to take a few pictures. I actually took them outside the Blacks store, and no-one bothered me. I guess that is maybe a good spot as I could claim I was shopping at Blacks.
Cheers!
