I am having trouble finding what would best fit my needs so I am hoping I can get some recommendations.
I am looking to make a little site for family and friends, I would like to display all the pictures I take at family gatherings, get togethers, my daughter throughout the year etc etc and have them available for family and friends to purchase.
I was looking at Smugmug Pro since it would allow me to both have a nice little site and have pictures available for purchase.
On Smugmug am I able to list pictures at cost? Or do I have to have some markup? I am just trying to eliminate everyone coming to me and asking for certain pictures to be sent to them, but I don't want them to have to pay a markup.
Are there other sites besides Smugmug that would allow me to have a webpage and have pictures available for family to purchase?
Any help is appreciated.

I have a smugmug pro account and, yes you can leave the prints at cost price without any markup, or you can set whatever markup you want from $0.01 to millions!!!!!!
There are other sites that will do the same, i think zenfolio and exposure manager are also popular, but its hard to beat the customer service and help and support forum with smugmug.
If you want to go with smugmug here's a referral code you can enter when signing up that will give us both a discount - 3MDk82MhINcPg

With smugmug you can also allow digital downloads for free or with a markup charge.
I'd recommend visiting the Dgrin.com forum, it's the support forum for smugmug. They have loads of customisation help and code that you can literally cut-and-paste into your site.
Also as a "Pro" level account holder you can have the choice between 2 pro photo labs to print from, and you can choose for each gallery which lab prints for that particular gallery.
You can also enable uploading of photos by email, so you could have your family upload their pictures by email if you wanted.
There's loads more, go to the dgrin forum or look on the help pages on smugmug itself to see more features, or even better, get a 14 day free trial account and see for yourself.

I would look at Zenfolio. The presentation right out of the box is more elegant than Smugmug, I think, though I think Smugmug can be customized to a greater degree if you know how and are willing to put in the time. The shipping fee is a bit high on Zenfolio if you are only getting a few photos, but I'm not sure that Smugmugs is any lower. Zenfolio is a bit cheaper too, I think.
