Has anyone from Canada tried Photobook Canada? Their prices seem very reasonable but I'm concerned about printing quality and binding. I know there is Blurb, Mpix and My Publisher in the U.S. but their shipping rates with UPS are bordering on insane and consistency is spotty. I'm looking for a cheap enough book to offer as more or less a proof book. The pricings on Asuka and Kiss are a little steep for proof books and I offer them as a medium range coffee table book only. Graphi et al have enough profit margin in pricing to make those more profitable for me to sell. I'm looking for a Canadian operation to avoid costs associated in obtaining a low cost book and UPS shipping. With the exchange rate where it is now and the shipping rates from the U.S., a low-end proof book isn't cheap anymore. I'm looking at a $18.95 shipping charge and a surcharge by UPS of another $10.00 . . . . $30.00 on top of the cost of the book and I'm not counting exchange yet! Anyone . . . ?

Does your coffee table book fold out into a coffee table?

I'm not sure where in CB you are but have you tried Quality Camera on George St., Sydney? They may be able to do it locally for you.

Thanks for the info posted. Quality Camera and Japan Camera do make photobooks but just don't have the quality there for the price. I looked at them just yesterday. Applied to Embassy and time will tell. Doesn't really matter if they approve it BUT they are Canadian so I'll avoid those horrendous UPS and Fedex charges. Asukabooks mailed me a package about some new changes coming in March and it looks like I'll play with them although not a low cost option. Quality costs as they say . . . .
