Looks really nice Phil . Could use just a little sharpening but careful not to over sharpen .

I did sharpen, perhaps not enough then, was worried of over sharpening lol

If the image is a tiny bit out of focus then sharpening will only help a little.

Was that shot taken with the Tamron? Is it IS, because using the Live View with an IS lens is great for getting the focus really good. I've got the same camera as you, and the same 50mm, but my telephoto is the 18-200mm IS. Doesn't cut it for moon-shots for my liking really, but then compared to my 1200mm scope that's not surprising I guess! (The lens is somewhat more portable though! ;) )

it was taken with the tamron which isnt IS and was used on the tripod with a remote! dont think i actually used the live view, perhaps i will try again soon using live view
