First, let me say this is an incredible forum. What a resource! I've been perusing this forum for at least 6 months now, and registered a month or 2 ago to make searching easier, attachments appear in-line, and of course, to eventually become more involved. There is so much info here that I can't keep up with the daily postings, and virtually every question I've had thus far has already been answered -- and I've found those answers through the search function. In fact, when I was looking for the perfect travel tripod, I came across ben_r's review (http://photography-on-the.net/forum/showthread.php?t=538298) on the Gitzo 1541T + Markins Q3T head, and as a result, purchased the exact same setup.

I received all my goodies, and am really looking forward to using them in the field. I went to the classifieds section to post a thread to put up my {{{deleted by Mod}}} for sale....and I was denied. Did some digging and it seems I have to have 30 posts before I can post a for-sale ad. I understand the reasoning, but it also seems silly to give someone a reason to make "fluffy" posts to get to 30 while I have been content reading current content and searching and browsing several years worth of archives. That would dilute the quality of the forum, and thus I have no intentions of doing that, but I wanted to bring this point up. :D

FWIW.

Cheers,
Dave

Trust me it won't change. The MarketPlace is for the participants of the forum. The post count/time requirement was instituted to help avoid scammers. We are happy with the results.
