just wondering what you guys thought were your essential lenses. the ones that you NEED in your bagwhen you head out for a shoot.

17-55 IS.
I now have gotten to the point where I feel naked without it in my bag.

24-70 on 1.3x or ff

Depends on what you shoot. 24-70 on a 5D can be too short for beauty or close ups.

I shoot with a 24-70 and a 200 Prime.

The lenses I always take with me are:
85 f/1.2L
135 f/2L
24-70 f/2.8L

well, I don't have an extensive line up of lens...but with what I have now...I won't leave without :

17-50 Tammy
85 1.2L

24-70mm f/2.8L (or 24-105mm f/4L IS)
70-200mm f/2.8L IS

Those are my essentials. It really depends on what I'm shooting. Sometimes it's the 400mm f/2.8L IS or 600mm f/4L that is the essential lens that I can't leave home without. Other times it may be the 85mm f/1.2L.
