I found this pretty funny. :)

"We are a fast growing family owned cosmetic company. We have established our retail stores for over 10 years and now we are expending our business through online website and also ebay store. I'm looking for someone immediately for photo editing. I have hundreds of picture that were taken by a regular sony camera with high resolution. I need someone knows how to use photoshop and edit them with white background and picture perfect-ready to use on our website, like all the product pictures you see on nordstrom.com or macys.com. All you need to do is take my product picture, then turn them into a white background and make the product very clearly show in the picture in high resolution and saved in three different sizes. Small-165x254 pixels, medium-220x337 pixels, large-600x920. Send me a message if you are interested, I will send you pictures for you to do a edit testing. once the person is found, and project will be closed immediate. This is urgent, need to be done by next Tuesday. I will pay .10 cents a picture, approximately 200 something pictures for you to work with. Please place bid for $ 20. Thank you for your time!"

This would take 2-3 days to complete, talking at least 12 hours. Make the background white, touch it all up, and save them in 3 different sizes. Oh you have one done, heres a dime for you. ;)

All they need to do is pay what Nordstrom's or Macy's would pay for such a service and I'm sure things will work out just fine.

I always find it amazing how clueless some people are. Who in their right mind would do that?!?!

My first thought also, but ya never know. I've known people in my life that were masters at getting people to do something for almost nothing.

The computer doesn't even get turned on for $20...then its another $30 to launch photoshop.... Tell them, better luck placing that add in a third world country...

And if they don't like the results, I bet they'll ask you to re-do the entire job until they're satisfied they got their $20 worth.... Just incredible.

Hahah, so great.
You forgot about adding $10 for each photo that you open.
Plus the $15/photo consulting fee to look over the photos and tell them what needs done for each one.

If they think photo editing is so easy, and we only need $.10 to do all of that, then why don't they do it themselves...? :)

Like someone else said, if they want a $.10 photo, I can edit a $.10 photo:
Open photo.
Close photo.
Done. :)

"I will send you pictures for you to do a edit testing"

Yea, wait for a dozen or so inquiries, send 10 or so "test" pictures and job done for free!

What a joke!

Haha, yeah thats one of the best parts.
They send you some photos to see if you can do the edits.
Now, if they were paying $5-$10 a photo, I could see that being more logical to make sure you're capable to doing the edits.

They'd be out a whole dime if you messed a photo up. Wow.

Ok, sure, the "I'll pay you $20 for 3 days work" thing is insulting, but I have an issue with something else.

You will NEVER get "white background" shots from her photos. All of her photos will be in JPEG format. Running the mask tool around objects in JPEG will always look like garbage. It's the nature of the beast. I'd be interested to see what she comes up with, because as stated before, she won't be satisfied.

And, OH DARN, bidding closed for this job.
