For 10 days with a large group of my friends. (about 20 of us). I plan to take pics of friends/scenery/places we go/etc. As well as video. I have 1 gig of sandisk as is.

My question is, how much more memory do you think I should buy? Since I won't be able to upload to a comp and just format the stick. Something to last me 10 straight days of picture and video shooting of friends and places. Any help appriciated!

It's hard to tell without knowing how much you shoot, but perhaps you have an idea how many photos you shoot on a day when you are in good mood, and then multiply that with 10 :) Of course you can delete bad shots on location but still I would say you need much more. A good idea might be to get some portable HDD (see http://photography-on-the.net/forum/showthread.php?t=61953 ), which may even be cheaper solution than e.g. 3 GB of cards. Much depends also on your camera, how many mexapixels you have there matters a lot.

Yes, I just saw something like a 40 gig station which handled most memory, no computer needed for like 139.00 at frys electronics. That should hold you for a few days.
