I am looking for material to make a white floor show a model's reflection, almost like a mirror but softer.

I have seen people use plexiglas over the floor to achieve this but I also seem to recall another material being used for this purpose..

Can anyone suggest what materials can also be used to make a floor reflect a model, other than a mirror?

I have seen what looked to me to be the stuff you use to tint windows used though I have no idea if thats what it really was. I have also seen water used. Not ankle deep water, I guess maybe about an 1/8 inch or less, just enough to cover the floor and produce the reflection. Just be carefull no one slips.

You could use chrome Monokote. Go to a modelling (toys that is) shop for it. It's used to cover model aeroplanes

Not sure it is the same as Monokote (above) but you could use reflective Mylar sheeting.

Or combine a plexiglass sheet with a mylar backing for a proper mirror look.
