Three new forums

Canon EF and EF-S lenses
Everything about lenses for Canon digital EOS system.

Accessories & Storage
Everything about accessories for Canon digital EOS system. Storage, cards, bags, tripods, straps, remotes...

Lighting
Everything about lighting, flashes, how to choose them, setting them up and usage techniques.

are open. Moderators have MOVED latest posts (ca. last 2 months) from here to respective forums without leaving a link, so if your post is gone from EOS camera forum then check your "Subscribed Threads" in user CP, or just visit the new forums.

The three new forums are created for several reasons:

- forum growth: this way EOS Camera forum keeps messages on p.1 longer - this is not a daily problem but is sometimes and will be more in the future.
- stickies are spread better between forums and do not take as much space on EOS Camera forum.
- searching and browsing for specific topics will be easier.
- those three are major areas of photography discussion which must be separated sooner or later from EOS Camera forum.

Take care,

Pekka

I just noticed these changes as well. I think they will offer some improvement as far as posts moving off the first page so quickly. (I believe you stated this in another post.)
I look forward to the new lighting section. :D

Cool deal...yeah, I was getting tired of a post moving off of the first page in 10 minutes during peak hours. :)

Nearing the end of Day one on the changes,. I have to say I am amazed at how well this transition has gone. :)

People have found there way to the new forums very quickly and it seems to have taken a lot of "post pressure" of the formerly inundated "EOS" forum.

It seems there is allready less confusion about where it is appropriate to post things, as opposed to creating confusion by adding forums,. which can always be a side effect,. the opposite is clearly proving to be true in this case. :)

Just an additional FYI,.. more and more historic posts/threads are being moved to the new correct forums daily.

This effort will help with your advanced searches,.. allowing you to specifiy individual forums for your searches, and not lose out on older posts that would have still been in the "EOS" forum.

As now about 80% of all "lens posts" ever made on the forum (and counting) have been correctly moved to the new EF/S lens forum, one need only search the Lens forum for relevent lens info.

Likewise,. Tripod, Bags, and Image tank threads have been very successfully moved to "Accesories and Storage".

I love the look and feel of the new forum, but the only thing that boogles my mind is how cool it would be to swap all the blue in the .css file to canon red:)

I just noticed the new forums. I like it! Much easier to navigate and know where to post certain questions. Great job guys!

Oh, and I'm afraid my eyes wouldn't be able to take a totally Canon red forum. Too tough on the eyes... :(
