I went to the B&H site last summer and found the 190XB and 488RC for a great price. I thought I hit the jackpot! I haven't regretted it yet.

The best tripod bang for the buck is one that you will take and use without a second thought. This may mean a few extra bucks now.

After much debate with myself, due to the weight difference vs the height difference between the 190 and the 055, I went with this combo.

I don't know how much I like it yet as it is due to arrive tomorrow.

Gitzo CF tripods are good, worth every cent

You don't want a paper weight because its too heavy to take out. A $10 tripod is not good value if you end up never using it

Well it came in today and I have zero complaints. I have been fooling around with it all night. I am very pleased so far, only disappointed that it took me so long to finally pull the trigger.
