A95 shutter

My A95 will not will not take a picture without the LCD monitor being opened. That is, I cannot take a picture (the shutter will not work) by simply looking through the viewfinder and pressing the shutter. The shutter only activates with the LCD monitor open. Is this a problem or is this normal. I seem to recall shooting without the LCD being open.

i got no problem when taking picture with viewfinder only. u better take it to service centre if doubt.

Hey, u might have the digital zoom option enabled. if u read p. 47 of ur manual, it says "The digital zoom cannot be used when the LCD monitor is off." Check your settings and see if u have it on or off... hth
