New to Macro -- Flowers

Greetings. I'm just getting started and I would appreciate your thoughts on these two photographs. Both were taken with my 40D using a 180L lens and the MT24-EX. Both were taken at 1/125 sec. The first was at f14 and the second was at f20. Thanks.

Rather like #1 but not mad on #2- not a pleasing composition. However I do know how hard it is to get a good composition/angle on those Christmas cactus flowers.

I like #1 better but that's just my opinion. #2 is too tight on composition.
MLU would help both images.
