I'd like to present a recent image I took of the Eta Carinae Nebula - NGC 3372.

You can also view a full-res version here (be sure to scroll around) -->> http://www.astro-image.org/page/ds/etafullframe.htm

It's a total of 2.5 hours exposure (various sub exposures), ISO 400 using the Canon 20Da at prime focus on a TOA-130, EM400 autoguided using an ST80 and Orion Autoguider.

Hope you enjoy.

Certainly blows away my bumbled attempt. Great work.

I'll definitely be going back to this one with plenty of fresh camera batteries!

Wondered where you've been Dusty, now I know. . . out shooting masterpieces.

Great to see your post this morning, spectacular image of one I never see from my dark site no matter how hard I look. :D

A truly mind-blowing image. You, Nighthound and stargzr37 are really paving the way here.

Is there any chance that you just hack into the data stream of the Hubble?
Amazing, the best image so far in here :)

Thanks Troy.
I highly recommend a mains adapter for the camera instead of batteries when doing astro work.

I'm speechless!
Cheers, glad you liked it.

G'day Steve, thanks mate, yeah haven't been posting much, the weather has been terrible here plus work and family commitments do not allow me as much time as I'd like for astro work.
Still, we take what we can get hah? :D

Thank you Adrena1in, I'm very happy with the result.
I think I can do with a few pointers from Nighthound (Steve) though, his work is insperational.

Excellent shot Andrew - tonnes of nice detail in this image. I was about to ask about the breakdown of exposures, but then realised you shot the image using a 20da. Nice.
