We've got one coming to the Detroit area and I was wondering...
Any of you been to one of them, are they a worthwhile educational event and maybe to pick up additional gear?

Never been. If it came to my town, I'd show up, but I'd feel more comfortable if I could see some examples of prior shows. That web site has no such gallery. The gallery page they do have is filled with expired links to other people's galleries.

Normally in Monday thru Friday 10am-4pm. They don't list a date, so that's a weekly thing?

Ta Da, I went. :(
For me, it was a bust, was hoping for more of a trade show with some new gear and education opportunities. Wrong!!!
It was more of a flea market for old film camera buffs.

One thing that I did find kind of interesting;
there were a lot of old photo albums that I thumbed through...as a whole, we take better images than they did.
