I haven't tried many floral photos but the colors shown here grabbed my attention. The question I have for whomever wants to offer an opinion is: is the composition better with more of flowers in focus or is one enough?
As a side note, I have to say the new lens I used (Tamron 28-75mm), positively rocks. For $370? sheesh. A very nice cost/quality proposition for us amateur shutterbugs. In the original, the spot on the left of the foreground flower was not--as I originally thought--a smudged sensor but in fact a very tiny spider. I was blown away. :-)

EXIF: ISO 100, f/2.8, 1/1250, 28mm

Thanks for taking a look.

First, I like the shot with only one flower in focus.

I shot these with the 85mm f/1.8 I picked up yesterday:

New lenses, I think, always cause us to take a new look at both what we see through the lens, and at the final result. If you're half as happy with your Tamron as I am with the 85mm, you must be ecstatic...

You nailed it. I was getting carried away with what my eyes were picking up; hence the need for a quick check with the more critical views here in the forum.

There was another factor in play as well. I was thiiss close to pulling out the plastic for a 24-70mm f/2.8L. I may still do that at some point but in the meantime, I'll find other uses for my $800+ . LOL
I envy your 85mm. I hope to add that to my lens arsenal at some point.
Oh...and you posted some outstanding shots. :-)
