My mums Giant, Daegan, when he was a pup. He is just over a year old now and is full height and weighs about 6 stone but the mentality hasn't changed a bit :|

This wasn't taken with my canon but this is our old Standard bitch Heidi, sadly she passed away last year. She is still, and always will be, missed terribly.
In this picture she is watching and waiting for my mum to come back in from the car. Even though she was only 6 feet away and never out of Heidis sight she would be greeted like she'd been away for a week when she went back to that gate. She was such a happy and loving little soul.

Deagan is going to give you lots to think about.. the Giant, a wonderful revearing breed!
As for Heidi, she looks like a kindred soul. Makes me sad thinking about the eventual passing of my own Cagney (soon to be 9..still full of life..sensitive and outstanding in everyway). The Standard Schnauzer- I think I will always want one...they are a handful though!!

Beautiful Airdale hedu! I think if you raised a Airdale you should have no problem with the Standard Schnauzer. I find my dog to be completely loyal and very loving- very intense dog with immense character. These working class dogs are very active and very athletic!!! At the dog park Cags is probably 2nd fastest dog on most days. People are amazed by her agility...... Anyhoooo...just me bragging about my dog again!!!

Thanks, your Yorkie's haircut does look like a schnauzer's! Alfie's hind legs are pretty powerful for a little dog...I make sure to cover the most important area before I let him boost off of me like that ;) Made the mistake of not covering up only once...lesson learned!

Speedsix, growing up, I had a schnauzer named Dixie too. :-) The picture of Dixie has a different tone to it. Looking at the properties it was shot at 119mm, so I assume you used the Sigma 70-300 lens. But it was shot at ISO 1600 F5.6 @ 1/60sec. Did you use a flash too or do something to it in photoshop to it? Thanks.

You are right, I used the Sigma 70-300. I believe the only lighting was natural light coming from a window, the flash was killing the shot so I had to bump up the ISO to negate using the flash. The post processing done to it was slightly extensive, I had to rush the shot because she never will stay completely still like that! I do it all in Lightroom, adjusted temperature and saturation, a few minor other tweaks....the image looks as I remember the scene, not really going for an overdone look, trying to keep it natural.
Was your Dixie the same colors?

Our Dixie was salt & pepper but much more salt (silver). I would post a picture but that would require going through many old photo albums and wrestling with a scanner. That is one of those on the to-do list that I never find time to actually get to. I know what you mean about always moving around, none of our schnauzers have ever sat still. I attached a similar picture I took a couple years ago of one our schnauzers. Unfortunately, with a flash. (And one day I will get better at fixing dog blue eye.)
Thanks for the info on the how the picture was shot. I agree with always trying to use natural lighting but I still try with a flash when necessary so I don't miss a shot. It may not be my favorite picture with a flash but then I still have the memory. Thanks again for the info.

No problem on the info, for sure use the flash to capture those shots! I was only messing around really working with my camera to try and figure out some lighting combos and just happened on that shot.

Those puppy pics remind me of "Cags (Cagney)" when she was so little.
She is 10ys-standard schnauzer and we LOVE her. These dogs have wonderful personality.

Schnauzer puppies 3 weeks old. Starting to walk and play. It's so cute when they growl or bark. The pups in these photos are both females. I have to decide which one to keep. The little girl in the 2nd photo is trying to steal my heart.

Man I use to always want a hound but after my wife got a schnauzer I love these dogs! Here's some pictures of my friends and my schnauzer, these are all from the same litter. I have the female (taylor) and the other two where the only males of the little (Gunner and Mason).

[QUOTE=scot079;7313388]Here's my mini black and silver...his name is Alfie but the neighbors call him "Satan Pup" because he growls and lunges at them!
I'd like to see some more Schnauzer pics if you guys have them!

Alfie is beautiful.
Looking at all the pictures that were posted, you can definitely tell who bought their dog from a bona fide breeder and who got their's from the local mall pet shop. Shame on them for calling the doggie in the window a Schnauzer. It's a major insult to the breed.
