Is it just me or is this the grainiest screen ever made. I get tons of balck pixels moving around for no apperent reason. Anyone know why or even have the same problem themselves?

My A40 screen seems fine; maybe it's just your model? Then
again maybe you just have better eyesight than me ;)

The only time I find the screen to be grainy at all is in low light conditions. I have never had black pixels moving around on the screen. Maybe you should get the camera checked out.

Yes. All digital cameras have a 1/2 resolution or lower "preview" screen shot. This is because the processor in the camera is not that powerful and it needs the juice to get the camera ready for the shot. After the picture is shot though you should get a 1 or 2 second preview of the quality shot. This is by design. No problem.

Hi,
I'm a newbie. and just wondering why does the JPG output of the A40 always seem to be darker than the one you see on the LCD? I always tend to increase the brightness +(50-70) on photoshop before saving to CD.
Is it the same for all digicams?
Is it my monitor? or just bec. of the size of the LCD?
or maybe used to save Pix size?
btw, it looks great on AV output to TV.
Thanks,
Conk

already read that one b4 posting this.... my question was more general than taking indoor shots... for my case it always happens to all shots. daylight/indoor/outdoor/night/etc.
moreover, it seems to be the same for all monitors.
sure, you can adjust gamma, but that would not look the same when you send it to your friend, right?
also noticed this on an A100

HI Brank
I see the same grainy effect in low light conditions, which can be quite often. but the pics turn out pretty fine. And as far as I know, it seems to be not uncommon.

Is there any way that we can get the images from the camera RAW, and not in JPG?......(diff. topic?)

No--- the A40 is JPEG only.
However, I haven't let that bother me. FOr the price range (price point), I am completely thrilled with my A40. It's well made, has a ton of shooting/exposure options, and the images I have captured so far look really really good.
