A local speciality shop has a reasonable price on a set of JTL lights. I have not gotten the details on model number etc. yet. So, in general, what do you know or have heard about the JTL strobes?

Thanks

Barry

I've read that they are not particularly well built and that you would be better off with SP Excalibur 3200's or Alien Bees. I use three SP Excalibur 3200's.

I heard the same, and not from this forum. If you gonna get JTL, might as well get SP System's Excalibur.

As a newbie to the forum and a late comer to this thread, my apologies. I have a JTL Studio set that was more than adequate for learning studio lighting technique but lacks the accessories and versatility to expand into a more professional setup. For example, no one has a mounting ring for Mola reflectors that will fit a JTL Versalight or J-160. After spending a couple of grand over the last two years, I'm ready to make the jump. I only wish I'd done the research back then. This forum is a great resource to get it right the next time.

I have a set of JTL Mobil Lights. 300 watts/head.
I like the set up very much, I just dont have enough time to master using them. But so far they have worked great
