From Gadget Infinity:

Vivitar 285HV flash had been completely sold out and will no longer be available owing to the acquisition of Vivitar's brand by Sakar International. Flash combos with Vivitar 285HV will be replaced by Cactus KF36, the first flash introduced by Cactus. Specifications and functions of which are the same as 285HV. Cactus KF36 will be available at the end of February.

I love my 285HV too... Hopefully It'll just be a Cactus in name only. Looks like there's still plenty in the channels (285HVs), though...

So this is available now https://www.gadgetinfinity.com/product.php?productid=17195

From what I have read, it is just a rebrand and you pay a little extra but can anyone confirm whether there are any actually improvements made? The only info I have been able is from the flickr thread below...

it's not the same... for the extra $10, you get a handsome carrying case:

Personally find the Lumopro most appealing. Never been a fan of the missing power settings on the Vivitar. All 3 of the new manual econo flashes are discussed nicely here.

If they added a Cactus receiver that would cool for the owners of the Catcus triggers.
