I took this pic and didn't set the flash correctly. I have CS3 but am not a power user. Is this fixable?

I lighteneed it up a bit using curves and exposure adjustments.

Thanks for the edit. I was trying to brighten the rest of the pic except for Jasmine's upper half, but then there was a nice line going across the pic. Is there an easy way to blend it back?

I actually duplicated the woman and lightened her a tad bit. The original photo I kept as the background and lightened the whole thing until I liked the little girl. Then a pasted the woman back on top. That way I avoided over-lightening the woman.
