Help! My S330 elph is 2.5 years old and I've never had any problems with it before. A few days ago, I was using the camera when the battery low warning sign came on. Very shortly after the warning, the camera began to power down while I was still attemptting a shot. The lens unit began to retract and shut down but the camera lost power before shut down was complete. I later charged the battery until full, put it back into the camera and tried to turn on the camera so that the lens would unstick itself from its neither closed nor open position. NO LUCK. My friend has an identical S330, so I put my battery in her camera and it worked fine. I also put her fully charged battery in my camera and still, NOTHING HAPPENS! Does anybody have any suggestions? IS there a way to "reboot" a crashed canon? 2.5 years does not seem like a satisfactory lifespan for a camera that really has been used gently by a single owner.

Try removing the CF card, then insert the battery and turn the camera on. Then turn the camera off, re-insert the CF card, and power the camera on again.

This has worked for me in the past on my S230.
