View Full Version : Need info on Canon SD1100IS

I just bought this camera and should arrive wednesday. Anyone have any info on the movie mode? Is there sound? How much video can you shoot on a- say a 4GB SD card. I have always used CF cards so SD is a new venture for me as well. Thanks in advance for any info is appreciated.

You are going to love your new camera! I have one and use it constantly. Yes, there is sound. You won't hear it in playback on then camera but when you transfer it to your computer, you will. I'm not sure how much time you get on your data card. There is an indicator that will show you how much is left on your card, though. By all means, take your new camera somewhere interesting (zoo, festival, whatever) and take some video. Remember you can plug your camera into the TV for playback and that's fun.

May I ask which color you selected? Mine is brown.

I ordered the blue. Its gonna be nice to have a camera other than black or silver. I got a good deal on it. I went to Best Buy to see what was on the market and seen the SD1100 marked down to $179.99 and would have cost just over $191 with tax so I went online and found it for $149.95 with free shipping at B&H - a $40 savings. No wonder stores like Circuit City are going out of business. You can find bargains galore on the internet.

Guys on the SD1100is sound can be heard in playback in the camera, you just need to turn it up, during playback push the 4 way multi function ring up (top) you can see the vol. increase with more pushes, 4 GB card should get you about 20min to 30min of video
