I was wondering how many of you shoot using the SD card & use the CF card as a back-up. There have been quite a few threads reporting loss of files using CF cards but I have not seen one about loosing files using SF cards.
As SD cards get bigger & cheaper is this a good alternative?

There are a lot of threads on loss of data on CF cards because there are a lot of CF cards out there. There just aren't (even among the Mk II users) that many SD cards in general use. Although frankly, given the physical size difference, I'd be more worried about the loss of cards with SD as opposed to CF! To say nothing of the difficulty of changing them with gloves on.

I save on the 1G CF, but keep a 512 SD in there just in case...

I never shoot on sd. First they are too small that I would be comfortable with them when having gloves one. Second they are more expensive then cf. And third I already have enoufg cf cards. :)
And I guess I agree with Jon. Not many people shoot with SD cards so I guess that's reason why there's no (or less) reports on lossing images on SD as it's with CF cards.

I shoot to both, 2 Gb CF and 2Gb SD cards,to date I have never lost an image from either. (Touching wood as I type)
